Following are the various locations that will carry information about school
opening/closing in case of inclement weather.
WPVI TV 6 – school name will be broadcast (may also access through web site www.abclocal.com)
When there is a prediction of snow, please plan accordingly. Those who drive should remember to allow extra time for travel or take the bus where possible. In the event of early dismissal due to weather conditions, students will be allowed to leave only when their school district bus has arrived. No phone calls requesting an earlier dismissal will be accepted.
When listening for school closings or late openings, remember to listen for both St. Pius and your local school district so that you know what to do. Remember that the school district controls the bus routes and we respond accordingly. If St. Pius is closed, then you don’t need to listen for you public school district. If St. Pius is open, then you need to listen for what your public school district is doing and respond accordingly. Please note, if a public school district is closed and not providing transportation, but St. Pius is in session, then students from that district are not expected to attend school and their absence will be excused.
